One of the best and cheapest choice for local trekkers in Iligan City and nearby cities is the Mount Agad-Agad. It has an estimated height of about 1,600 feet or 490 meters above sea level.

This trekking adventure is actually a random one. It was never planned at all. I just woke up early in the morning and ask Jay to come and join me to trek to Mt. Agad-Agad. He said yes, and we started packing our essentials. It is a funny and impromptu adventure but it was also one of the best experiences we had.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Our rendezvous was at 7–11 Palao Branch in Iligan City. The fare is PHP 7 only from the city proper.

We then started our hike from there to Mt. Agad-Agad through the C3 road. If you are unfamiliar about the place, you may ask the locals for some directions.

Landmark is the hanging bridge. Upon seeing the hanging bridge, then you can be rest assured that you are on the right place.

Journeying to Mount Agad-Agad requires a very LOW COST or NO EXPENSE AT ALL!

Upon your arrival at Mount Agad-Agad, an entrance fee of PHP 10 only will be then collected. However, on our case, the collector is nowhere to be found, thus it is literally FREE.

NO CORKAGE FEE. Another good news you can look forward when visiting Mt. Agad-Agad is you can bring any foods and drinks with you. As long as you can carry it with you and it won’t be a hassle to bring with you, then there’s no problem with it. We decided to had our breakfast there — -oh, it’s only me since Jay is having his intermittent fasting.

Upon seeing and crossing the hanging bridge, you will encounter various local houses which you can come and ask around. The locals are very friendly, there is really nothing to worry about.
this was when we were finally trailing back down

Overall, it is one of the best trekking experiences we had. It was his third time to climb Mt. Agad-Agad while it’s a second time for me.

No matter how many times we had come and climb over this mountain, one thing is for sure. It still feels just like the very first time we had conquered this 1,600 feet high mountain.

The feeling to be on the top even for a short while is both awesome and overwhelming.
