The Hidden Paradise: SIKYOP Adventure
Another fun adventure trip happened together with my HILAS team. It was surely one of best and one of a kind trekking experience together.
Sikyop which literally means ‘hidden paradise’ is located in Sitio Lawlawon, Barangay Rogongon. It is carefully maintained and managed by the Sikyop Agriculture Cooperative.
As known to many, Iligan City is considered to be a city of majestic waterfalls. However, what is not known to the public is the hidden paradise featuring the underground river residing in the hinterlands of the city!
Sikyop is more than 30 kilometers away from Iligan City. Travelling through the Sta. Filomena-Rogongon road, it takes us about an hour to finally arrive to our anticipated destination.
For commuters, there are local motorcycles or ‘habal-habal’ which you can ride on to get to the place. The fare is PHP 150 only per head or PHP 300 round trip.
The entrance fee is PHP 110 only and we paid PHP 200 for our tour guide. A single tour guide can accommodate up to 8 persons; however, the lesser number of people being managed, the more it is preferred.
They also offer functional and conference rooms which can be utilized if you are planning to conduct seminars and conferences there. The room is big enough to accommodate for about 80 to 85 persons.
Since we arrived at the place for nearly lunch time, we decided to bring our things we us. We had our lunch at the tree top.
If ever you wasn’t able to bring your own food with you, don’t get anxious about it. The place also offers meals for tourists and visitors exploring to the place. You may order your own choice of meal before you start your trekking adventure and get back to the function hall after your adventure with your food ready before you.
If you are worried about the safety and security of the place, it is a hundred percent guarantee that Sikyop is a safe place to visit. There are also military camps nearby and around the territory.
Here’s our vlog for you to enjoy more SIKYOP, the hidden paradise!
Happy viewing!
